Edwardian Duplex
A historic Edwardian duplex and home to Katie’s family, this project focused on honoring the original architectural details of the space while incorporating pieces that reflected her family’s background and story.
The palette blended colors and patterns that felt familiar and personal — a soft yellow inspired by flowers from Southeast Asia, wallpaper reminiscent of Midwestern prairie grass. Throughout the home, we layered artwork, old photographs, textiles, and personal artifacts to create warmth and a sense of continuity between past and present.
With tall ceilings and rounded corners, we worked intentionally with scale and shapes. Just as importantly, the home was designed to support real family life, a place where children could play, jump, gather, and fully be themselves in every room.
